computer is becoming slow, how to fix it..

A slow computer can be caused by many factors. Here are some ways to speed it up:

### **Basic Fixes**
1. **Restart Your Computer** – A simple restart can clear temporary files and refresh system processes.
2. **Close Unnecessary Programs** – Too many apps running in the background slow down performance.

### **Improve Performance**
3. **Disable Startup Programs** –
– Windows: Press `Ctrl + Shift + Esc` → Go to **Startup** tab → Disable unnecessary apps.
– Mac: Go to **System Settings** → **Users & Groups** → **Login Items** and remove unnecessary apps.

4. **Clear Temporary Files** –
– Windows: Press `Win + R`, type `temp`, delete files. Do the same for `%temp%` and `prefetch`.
– Mac: Use **Finder** → **Go** → **Go to Folder** → Type `~/Library/Caches/` → Delete old files.

5. **Check for Malware/Viruses** – Use **Windows Defender**, **Malwarebytes**, or other antivirus software.

6. **Uninstall Unused Programs** –
– Windows: `Win + R`, type `appwiz.cpl`, uninstall unused software.
– Mac: Drag unused apps to the Trash.

7. **Update Software & Drivers** – Keeping your OS, drivers, and apps updated can improve performance.

### **Hardware Upgrades**
8. **Add More RAM** – If your PC struggles with multiple apps, upgrading RAM can make a big difference.
9. **Upgrade to SSD** – If you’re using an HDD, upgrading to an SSD will significantly improve speed.
10. **Check CPU & GPU Usage** – Use `Task Manager` (Windows) or `Activity Monitor` (Mac) to find heavy apps.

### **Other Tips**
11. **Disable Visual Effects** – In Windows, go to `System Properties` → **Advanced** → **Performance Settings** and select **Adjust for best performance**.
12. **Defragment HDD** (Only for HDD, not SSD) – In Windows, search for “Defragment and Optimize Drives” and run it.
